On Wednesday, April 9th from 8:00-10:00am New York’s real estate, engineering, construction and development leaders will gather for The Building Next Door: The Impact of Your Construction Project on Adjacent Buildings. Hosted by Zetlin & De Chiara LLP, The Steven L. Newman Real Estate Institute, Real Estate Weekly and The New York Building Congress, the breakfast event will bring together experts at the Harvard Club to discuss forward-thinking, sophisticated strategies for navigating the complex process of building next to existing structures.
Failing to properly assess a construction project’s impact on adjacent buildings can cause significant financial issues and unanticipated delays. This insightful, interactive program will offer solutions for those involved in the construction process, from architects to property managers to general counsel, helping team members prepare and avoid troublesome – and costly – problems. Panelists will work to answer important questions such as:
- What agreements should be executed with the adjacent building owner(s)?
- What critical role does the building department have at the inception of the construction process regarding the building next door?
- Which legal and technical issues must be addressed in advance of construction?
Following a brief introduction, Michael De Chiara, Senior Partner of Zetlin & De Chiara LLP, will moderate the panel discussion entitled “Managing the Unexpected,” after which the audience will be invited to join the conversation.
