Building Our Future” is taking place on June 18, 2013 at the PNC Bank Arts Center in Holmdel, NJ. This timely discussion comes on the heels of New Jersey voters approving a $750 million higher education construction bond issue last November and Governor Christie recently putting forth to the Legislature $1.3 billion in higher education capital plans. The New Jersey Alliance for Action event, sponsored by Zetlin & De Chiara LLP, will include speakers from Rutgers University, Georgian Court University, Montclair State University, and The College of New Jersey among others.

Timothy Hegarty will present on a panel addressing public-private partnerships and allowing a private entity to assume full financial and administrative responsibility for on-campus construction, reconstruction, repair, alteration, improvement or extension of a building, structure, or facility.

Timothy F. Hegarty is a Partner with Zetlin & De Chiara LLP resident in the New Jersey office. He focuses his practice in the area of construction law and litigation with an emphasis on construction claims, arbitration, mediation, surety law, and contracts. For more than 15 years, Tim has litigated construction cases in federal and state courts. He regularly counsels owners, developers, engineers, architects, construction managers and trade contractors regarding the drafting and negotiation of complex construction contracts and the prevention and resolution of large construction claims for projects located across the United States and internationally. Prior to attending law school, Tim worked as an engineer on complex construction projects and developed a keen ability to read and understand plans and specifications - a skill that gives him a unique strategic advantage in evaluating claims and preventing and resolving disputesHe serves as an adjunct professor at Columbia University in the Construction Administration graduate program, where he teaches “Legal Issues in Building Construction.” He is General Counsel to the American Council of Engineering Companies of New Jersey.
