Patti Harris to Speak at AIA Women’s Leadership Summit 2024

On October 10^th, Special Counsel Patti Harris will speak on a panel at the 2024 AIA Women’s Leadership Summit (WLS) titled “How Dattner Architects Transitioned to a Certified Women-Owned Business,” in Chicago, Illinois. The panel will review the inspiring story of Dattner Architects, a third-generation New York City firm, as they transitioned to a certified women-owned business (WBE) after six decades. This case study session will explore the evolving landscape for women in architecture and how Dattner Architects created a pipeline for women, LGBTQIA+ individuals, ethnically diverse people, and working parents to rise to leadership. The session will also address the legal and structural adjustments necessary for WBE certification, offering practical insights and strategies. This session will equip firm leaders and mid-career to senior professionals with knowledge and tools to cultivate a diverse, equitable workplace, and contribute to a more inclusive future for our industry.
